Photography Tips

It is important that the photographs are as detailed as possible with the animal filling the frame. If the picture containing the pose you would like replicating is not very detailed it would be useful to send other detailed shots to give me a better idea - I can only draw what I can see.

If your pet has sadly passed away or it is difficult to take new pictures I would be happy to look at any existing photographs to see what is possible.

All photographs will be returned with the finished portrait but please send copies as opposed to originals where possible.

Here are some tips that will help you get the best results:

  • Make sure the light source is behind you or to the left or right.

  • Try to keep at eye level with your pet (unless you specifically want an unusual angle).

  • Natural light is always best where possible.
